“Excalon have successfully delivered an innovative multi-utility solution throughout Manchester City Centre as part of the overall utility diversion works required by Metrolink. This has been a challenging programme which has involved works within one of Manchester’s busiest public open spaces; it has been delivered with collaboration, great care and professionalism”
“I would like to express my gratitude for the professional manner which Excalon has conducted themselves on the extremely demanding project for the Lister Drive – Gateacre-Speke and Lister Drive to Garston Civil Cable Duct and Fibre Optic Dust Installation Contract. During the works we experienced pressures to maintain Major Highways Route through Liverpool, Directional Drilling Installation connections interface, Public Services Mersey Travel, Other Utilities, Major Infrastructure junctions and Emergency Hospital Access have all been overcome. The positive attitude of the entire project team and professional communications with the public along the 8.2km all assisted with the smooth running of the Project, which at times threw up some interesting challenges, like restrictive working along certain highway routes, both limited and in some cases extended working hours to complete various sections on a very busy highways network”

As the Senior Manager for Western Power Distribution, I have known Excalon Ltd since December of 2017. In that time, I have been very impressed with the support and service they have provided to Western Power Distribution. The consistency of the support & service they provide is very good and the quality of their work is to very high. I have worked with them on standard Western Power Distribution overlays and the more complex projects with HS2 project team which required a lot more understanding of compliance to the HS2 act and Excalon Ltd embraced that and adapted there business to insure there where fully compliant and delivered these complex projects on time and budget. Excalon have undertook numerous construction projects for Western Power Distribution ranging from simple 11KV Underground diversion to a the most complex design and build 132kV OHL to U/G for the HS2 project. Over the past 5 years whist I have engaged with Excalon I have found the senior managers, Managers, back office staff and commercial teams to be extremely understandable about the EHV industry and provided a very high level of support. Excalon have also undertook various design works from 11KV to 132KV and their design engineers had a full understanding of our network, our standards and where very supporting with coming up with practical design solutions that worked for all stakeholders. Overall, I want to complement Excalon Ltd for their consistency, quality of work, and contribution to Western Power Distribution, and say that I would recommend their services to other organizations.
Excalon was awarded Phase Two of Northern Powergrids largest value single project to date following a tender process. The £30m project to improve the reliability and resilience of Bradford’s electricity network involves replacing five major circuits which supply electricity to two thirds of the district’s homes and businesses, ensuring the network will meet existing and future demands. Excalon commenced work on behalf of Northern Powergrid in May 20 replacing 10kms of cables dating back to the 1960’s. This work was due to start July 20 however, the start date was advanced to May 20 to enable a major road into Bradford to be closed during COVID lockdown causing minimal disruption to traffic. The cable route started in a village location, Wilsden and progressed into Bradford along major infrastructure roads into Bradford City, two circuits terminating in a substation and one circuit on a tower. Excalon worked with Bradford Highways to ensure all works was planned and undertaken with minimal disruption to all directly and indirectly involved and to required specifications. Excalon provided a dedicated Customer Liaison Officer for this project to work with the general public ensuring the excavations along the route met with minimal resistance. School buses were also affected by the works and regular meetings held with West Yorkshire Combined Authority and First Bus Group to avoid disruption. The Operatives on site and Project Management Team developed relationships on site with the general public and all have managed the project with success. Major stakeholders, businesses, residents and road users have been informed regularly by letters and media releases. Excalon are continuing working on the project into 2022 but to date, all works on programme.
